The Praise of the Prophet, the Praise of the Universe.

Abdulhamid Han has a special place among the Ottoman sultans with her interest in classical western music and especially her love for piano and violin, as well as all aspects.

“One Nation, Two States” which she also curated as the artistic director, she performed the Piano Concerto on the Amirov-Nazirova Arab Themes at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall with her performance as the soloist accompanied by Cemal Reşit Rey Symphony Orchestra.

As all musicians, we have aimed to improve our performance by trying to understand music, researching its history, gaining more cultural knowledge and reading while we have been working on Classical Western Music works. However, there were great civilizations in the geography we live next to the European culture that we have studied throughout the history of music, and we could not help asking if there could be a connection between these two elements. A simple research grew like an avalanche over time and this is how the “Ottoman Traces in Western Music” project came into existence.
